Our memories on the shores are often mixed with joy of play within the known land and fear of the uncontrollable ocean. In this research based project, the presented situations serve as a reminder of the trace of our past and question towards the future.

“What belongs to the ocean will always return to the ocean”, says a coastal inhabitant in Puerto Rico’s beaches, who lost his house to the ocean due to the disastrous erosion. The shore attracts people with its special locality between the conquered continent and the unknown ocean, bringing not only a playground of resort area, but also the point of departure into exploitation of the ostensible infinite ocean. The ambivalent activities with constructive and deconstructive gestures formed peculiar scenarios, which can be found across the globe, posing the question of the boundary between nature and culture.
